What does a British Gas boiler service include?
Your service includes a series of check(s) to make sure your boiler and central heating are running safely and efficiently.
Your engineer will check for water leak(s), damage and wear and tear.
What is done during a boiler service?
During a boiler service, the engineer will remove, inspect, and clean the main components in the boiler to ensure they are fit for purpose and have no noticeable defects. This will include the main burner, heat exchanger, flue ways, and ignition pins.
Do British Gas do a one-off boiler service?
Simply book a one-off repair. One of our expert engineers will look at your boiler and central heating and give you a repair quote. If you are happy with it, our engineer will start the repair. If you decide not to go ahead, you will only be charged for 30 minutes of the engineer's time.
How much is a new boiler from British Gas?
A new combi or system boiler will cost between £600 - £850 for a budget model, £800 - £1,100 for a mid-range model and £900 - £2,000 for a premium model depending on boiler size.
How much should a boiler service cost 2023?
A boiler service should cost £70-90 + VAT (depending on where in the country you are), and that includes cleaning out a magnetic system filter (if you have one). These prices are further increased when you go for a well-known national boiler servicing company.
Is a boiler service worth it?

Is British Gas Homecare worth it?
If you have had a new boiler installed recently, Homecare’s probably not worth it, because you are (fingers crossed) unlikely to have major problems that need expensive callouts. Also, most good boilers come with a 5–6-year warranty.
Do British Gas fix showers?
Homecare One and Homecare Two cover most of the things you would expect, though there are a few exceptions: repairs to a central heating system, showers, removing sludge and scale are not covered. The prices are fixed for the first year and unlimited boiler call outs every year are included.
Is it a legal requirement to have your boiler serviced?
It is not a legal requirement for homeowners who do not rent out their property to have an annual boiler service. However, they have a duty of care to ensure their gas appliances are safe, and not liable to cause harm to themselves or others. An annual service will also keep the boiler's warranty valid.
Are Vaillant boilers better than Worcester Bosch?
The price for both models varies depending on which supplier you choose. However, Vaillant is a bit more expensive than Worcester Bosch but well worth the price due to its robust quality.
Do they check radiators on a boiler service?
The flue route and integrity will also be checked, and if your boiler is an older open-flued appliance, and flue test and spillage test will also be conducted. Normally, we also use our visit to check your radiators and thermostats are all working correctly, too.
How much is a gas safety check UK?
You could expect the gas safety certificate costs to be around £60+ VAT for a gas safety check that would include one appliance (i.e., a gas boiler). The cost of the certificate will rise for each additional gas appliance in the property (a gas fire or hob, for instance).
What happens if you do not service your boiler?
If you do not service your boiler for more than 12 months, this may void your warranty, so if it does break down, you will not be able to claim the money for repairs. How often should a boiler be serviced in a rented property?
