Are British Gas boilers expensive?

question about british gas
In our opinion, British Gas boilers are expensive, and especially when you compare them to independent quotes.
I think British Gas is good for customers who seriously do not trust a small company to install their boiler.
These customers prefer the larger company.
Every Company has there following.

boiler grants available

The government's ECO scheme intends to help pensioners upgrade their homes with energy efficient boilers.
If you are aged over 60 and receive Pension Credit you may be entitled to a free replacement boiler.

Are gas boilers being phased out in the UK?
Yes, they are – although not straight away.
The UK Government recently revealed on 18 November 2020
that the boiler ban date will be brought forward from 2025 to 2023, to align with its bold net-zero plans for 2050.

Can I claim for a new boiler on my house insurance?
In most cases, standard home insurance will not cover the cost of fixing or replacing a broken boiler.
Boiler breakdown is common, and it is most often caused by lack of good maintenance or regular servicing,
so home insurance providers are understandably wary about offering cover for this issue.

Is British Gas coming out during COVID-19
how is business dealing with covid-19
During the coronavirus outbreak, we are taking extra steps to protect you and our engineers whenever they visit your home.
At a time when things are constantly changing, it is good to know we will be there when you need us.
Danielle Murray, Health, Safety and Environment at British Gas, explains, safety is our number one priority: "We’re continually reviewing the latest official guidance and updating what we do and how we do it in line with that. We have a duty to ensure the safety of both our customers and our engineers and we’re utilising everything we can – from social distancing to PPE – to keep everyone safe on every appointment."

When you book over the phone
We will ask if anyone in your home is showing Covid-19 symptoms, shielding or vulnerable.
If they are, we will let our engineer know that they will need to take a few extra precautions during their visit.

Before your appointment
On the day of your appointment, our engineer will call ahead to let you know they are on their way and to check if anything has changed.
Do not worry if it has – they will still be able to continue as planned. They will just need to take some extra steps to keep everyone safe.

When we arrive
Before entering your home, our engineer will thoroughly wash or sanitise their hands – and at regular intervals during their visit. They will also put on disposable or protective gloves depending on the job. They may ask you to stay in a different room to the one they are working in. But if that is not possible, they will always keep at least two metres away from you – and they will ask everyone in your home to do the same for them.
Where you can, please open any doors and windows to make sure your home is as well-ventilated as possible during our visit.

Two-Person jobs
If your job requires more than one engineer, they will only come together for tasks that need two pairs of hands. And if the nature of the job means they are unable keep two meters apart, they will wear personal protective equipment (PPE) throughout their visit. Extra precautions If you or anyone in your home is shielding, our engineers will take a few extra steps to keep everyone safe – that includes wearing goggles and a respirator mask. And if you have told us that anyone in your home has Covid-19 symptoms, they will also wear a cover-all suit.
Our engineers follow the latest guidance and will: wash or sanitise their hands before entering your home – and at regular intervals during the appointment. wear face masks (unless they are medically exempt from doing so) wear disposable or protective gloves as appropriate during the job Always keep at least two metres away from you.
After the appointment Once we have completed the job and you are happy with the result, our engineer will remove and safely dispose of their gloves – as well as any other disposable PPE equipment they have used. Worried you might need something fixed?

The run upto winter you should see deals from British Gas and other heating companies on services and repairs. Don't forget if you are a Landlord you must keep your gas safety certificates upto date.
